The Arc Bay County inducted our new board members at
our
June 2011 meeting. These are members willing to devote extra
time to ensure that we at The Arc do our best for people with
intellectual and developmental disabilities.
We appreciate the support of all our
directors, board
members, and staff. The Arc Bay County extends sincere thanks
to all our board members who have served The Arc in the past, and to
those who begin their term this year. We are truly lucky to
have you all.
Meet
our Board of Directors
Rene Jones
Rene is our new president of the board.
She is the Senior Customer Service Representative at Chemical
Bank and has been for 15 years. Her support of The Arc is
phenomenal.
Jennifer Barnes
Jennifer is our vice-president of the board.
She is an assistant prosecuting attorney in Saginaw. She
is also a very talented songwriter and performer who travels all
over the place.
Barb Prueter
Barb is our secretary of the board. She
is a self-employed house cleaner and has been very actively
helping with the fundraiser solicitations, which we truly
appreciate.
Patsy Powell
Patsy is the treasurer of the board. She
is also the Executive Director of New Dimensions and is actively
involved with the Chamber. We value her insight and
perspective.
Bonnie LeFave
Bonnie is the past-president and has been on
our board for over 17 years. She has been an active member
doing much for The Arc, including running the bowling program
for 25 years.
Sharolyn Meyer
Sharolyn is the Executive Director of The Arc
Bay County. She is a dedicated advocate for people with
intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Meet our Board Members
Richard Blakely
Richard has been on the board for several
terms. He is a big supporter of The Arc and assists those
in the thumb area when he can.
Jolene Howden
Jolene is a prior employee of The Arc so she
knows quite a bit of what we accomplish in the office and that
makes her a wonderful asset. She now works for V.O.I.C.E.
Hazel Kish
Hazel has been an Arc member for 37 years.
She has been a past-president of The Arc board and is on the New
Dimensions board. She is a very supportive and kind
person.
Beth Klosowski
Beth is a new board member of The Arc.
She is Chief Operating Officer at Do-All, Inc. and has worked
there for 32 years. Her vast amount of experience is an
asset to The Arc.
Richard Blakely
Richard has been on the board for several
terms. He is a big supporter of The Arc and assists those
in the thumb area when he can.
Michelle Kraut
Michelle is the Director of Special Education
for the Bay City Public Schools. Her support has been
wonderful in the education field and we are thankful for her
experience.
Dr. Richard Link
Dr. Link is a second term board member.
He has been a chiropractor for 39 years and well-known in the
community. Besides The Arc is he involved in the Lion's
Club.
Arthur Ralph
Arthur has also been on the board for many
years. He works at Do-All as a payroll manager. He
also volunteers at many other organizations such as K of C.
Dell Thompson
Dell is a new board member. He is
co-owner of Northway Insurance Agency and is actively involved
with Bay City Central Booster club, and coaches and chaperones
wit Special Olympics.
Meet our Staff
Sharolyn Meyer, Executive
Director
Sharolyn has held the position of Executive
Director at The Arc Bay County for two years. She worked
for The Arc Bay County for four years prior to accepting the
director position. Sharolyn received a Bachelor's degree
in 1991 in English from SVSU, with Minors in psychology and
business.
Seth Meyer, Representative Payee Assistant
Seth has worked for The Arc Bay County for
over one year. He also attends college and is pursuing a
degree in physical therapy.
Jamiee Crites, Office Assistant
Jamie has been with The Arc Bay County since last
year. Her prior experience has been working with people
with disabilities through MCSI.
Kim Ward, Education Advocate
Kim has recently joined The Arc Bay County to
provide education and advocacy, and is very familiar with the
IEP process. She is also President of Mid-Michigan Autism Society.
Arlene Warner, Social
Security / Medicaid Consultant and Advocate
Arlene has served as a board member for The Arc
Bay County, and is now working for The Arc a consultant and
advocate. She has been involved with working with people
with disabilities in Bay County for almost 30 years.
